DT Quixotic Paperie - Graphic 45 Little Darlings Baby Card

Today I have a card to share featuring the new Little Darlings paper pack from Graphic 45. This paper pack is SO unbelievably sweet and is perfect for both boy and girl projects. I had so much trouble cutting it up.. still gives me nightmares, lol.

I made this card for a friend who has just had her little baby boy. The image in the centre is from one of the papers in the pack. I matted it onto a white doily. To embellish I simply added some pearls, lace, ribbon and a cherub charm. I forgot to take pics before I added the names hence the blurred out circle... although it does match my papers, lol.

Supplies:
Cardstock: The Paper Mill
Lace & Seam binding : Wild Orchid Crafts
Cherub Charm: NEC Birmingham

Waltzingmouse Stamps August Release Blog Waltz

It's Waltzingmouse Stamps Release day blog hop!! Over the past 3 days we have been giving you previews of all of the stamps being released today. The store is now closed but will reopen in just a few minutes at 7.15pm (GMT).

You should have arrived here from Bonnie's blog, but if not then you should head back to the Claire's blog to start at the beginning.

Today we are recapping on all of the sets. I missed out on Day 1 so today I chose to showcase Vintage Garden Produce, Vintage Garden Flowers, Vintage Seed Packet and Vintage Garden Appleblossom Seeds and boy did I have a lot of fun with them.. so grab a coffee and pull up a chair :D

First up I made a sweet card featuring Vintage Garden Appleblossom Seeds and Vintage Seed Packet

I coloured the images with copic markers and trimmed them out. The papers are old ones from Basic Grey. I embossed the background paper using Swiss Dots embossing folder and I punched out a border using Martha Stewart's Antique Lace punch. To finish off I added some 5mm flat back self-adhesive pearls.

Next I made a 6" x 3" tag featuring Vintage Seed Packet and Vintage Garden Flowers

The papers on this are from My Mind's Eye. Once I adhered the backing papers on I fixed a large eyelet at the top of the tag and thread some seam binding though. I layered a half white doily onto the background papers and then adhered the sentiment, which I had stamped out using Stampin' Up: Pretty in Pink & Basic Black, onto the half doily with 3D foam dots.

I used the same MS punch on this one as I did on the previous card and I added some Wild Orchid Crafts flowers and seam binding to embellish. Again, I added some 5mm self adhesive pearls.

Then I made a gift jar filled with strawberries featuring Vintage Garden Produce, Vintage Seed Packet, Opera Tags, Opera Tags DiesGingham & Co.

I stamped the Vintage Seed Packet with Stampin' Up Ruby Red and trimmed it out. Then I stamped the strawberry from Vintage Garden Produce onto white blending card with Momento Tuxedo Black ink. I then coloured the strawberry with Copic Markers, trimmed it out and adhered it onto the Seed Packet with 3D foam dots.

I filled my glass jar full of strawberries and taking some cheesecloth, I used the Ruby Red ink and created some gingham design on it. I put it over the top of the jar, securing it with red and white ribbon and then tied the tag and strawberry charm onto it with WMS Button Twine

I am entering this into the Touch Twin Markers and More challenge - Good Eats.

Last up I created a Halloween card featuring Vintage Seed Packet,  Cicely at Halloween and Hocus Pocus

My papers are My Mind's Eye Mischievous and I've matted them onto black cardstock. I stamped Cicely using Momento Tuxedo Black and coloured her with copics. The I stamped the bats all around her with Stampin' Up Basic Black and distressed it with Old Paper ink.

I used some cheesecloth to give a spiderweb effect and also some black lace. To embellish I used more Wild Orchid Crafts flowers. I stamped the sentiment on the other side of my pennant paper adhered it with foam dots.

I did warn you that I had a lot of fun, lol.
If you're still with me... Next stop on the hop is Julia!!

Don't forget to leave a comment on each blog in the hop to be in with a chance of winning a stamp set of your choice. You have until August 26th 11:59PM GMT to leave your comments

Happy Waltzing!!

Make it Crafty Blog Hop

Zoe's excited to be releasing another colouring tutorial and it is on a topic that everyone always seems to want to improve... Colouring Hair!!  And in particular this e-book is, 'Colouring long hair in fine detail!'

Colouring Long Hair Tutorial

When Zoe was trying to decide on an image that would be perfect for this tutorial she just knew she had to contact the gorgeous Krista Smith from Saturated Canary. And... Excitingly Krista has illustrated and generously donated the perfect character exploding with big luscious hair full of layers and bumps! Just perfect for you to learn all of Zoe's little secrets to colouring finely detailed hair.

This is my attempt, lol. A lot more practice needed but I am HAPPY with my first try at it. For my hair colour I used E21, E23, E25, E27, E29.

Skin: E000, E00, E11. R20
Dress/Eyes: BG02, Bg05, BG07
Necklace: Y21, Y28

We thought it would be fun to have a little hop (and a few give aways of course) where the fabulous MiC girls and Krista have followed Zoe's tips and tricks to colouring long straight hair.

Waltzingmouse Stamps August Release Previews - Day Three

Good morning and welcome to Day Three of Waltzingmouse Stamps August release previews. Over the past 2 days the DT have showcased 6 stamp sets - Vintage Garden Produce, Vintage Garden Flowers, Vintage Seed Packet, Vintage Garden Appleblossom Seeds, Camellia and Opera Tags - and also introduced the newest addition to the WMS catalogue - Opera Tags Dies.

Today we have 3 more sets for you - Little Lanterns, Bright Season and Light of the World Sentiments

My first card features Little Lanterns and Light of the World Sentiments, and also Opera Tags Dies. I stamped my lantern, trimmed it out with a scissors, punched a hole at the top and threaded some WMS button twine through.  Then I adhered it with 3D foam dots.

My second card features Bright Season and Light of the World Sentiments and is a very clean and simple card. Again, I stamped out my lantern, trimmed it out with a scissors and adhered it with 3D foam dots. I added a layer of glossy accents to the lantern, and a button flossed with WMS button twine. I used a copic multiliner to draw a double line around the card and some white pearls to finish off.

Check out what the rest of the DT have created today. Here is the list....

Waltzingmouse Stamps August Release Previews - Day Two

Good morning! It's Waltzingmouse Stamps preview time and I am soooo excited to share my projects with you today. We have TWO more amazing stamp sets - Opera Tags and Camellia and we also have our very first Waltzingmouse Stamps DIES!! These dies coordinate with the Opera Tags stamps but can also be used with your other WMS sentiment sets.

My first card features the Camellia set and also sentiments from Opera Tags and Compact Family. I used  copic markers to colour my image but this would also look amazing in watercolours.

My second card features both the Opera Tag stamps and dies, and Compact Sentiments. Can you tell I LOVE my compact sentiments stamps?!! I used Distress Inks to stamp and then used the dies to cut out my shapes.

Check out what the rest of the DT have created for your viewing pleasure today. Here's the list...

DT Make it Crafty - Halloween Greetings

Morning Bloggers!! Today I have a Halloween card I created using Make it Crafty Spooky Halloween Chippies, yes, you read right.. no character image, the chippies have centre stage today ;) This set has loads to play with and I have tons left over that I can use as embellishment on more cards.

I used a single sheet of patterned paper from Echo Park's Apothecary paper pack, edged it with black distress ink and matted it on to white and black cardstock. This was the background for my 'scene'.  I  then inked all of the chippies I was using on my card. I used Black Soot for the House and Spider Webs, Old Paper for the Railings and Tombstone and Spiced Marmalade for the Pumpkin.

I also stamped out a Waltzingmouse Stamps Halloween sentiment and a quote onto white card, crumpled them up and distressed them with Old Paper. Behind the sentiment/quote I added some cheesecloth. Once I had all my elements adhered down I blew the dust off of my Stickles (seriously! not kidding!!) and used them for edging the sentiments, and on the both the pumpkin and Spiderweb.

To finish off I added a button flossed with bakers twine and some pearl topped pins.

You can find these fabulous chippies HERE on the Make it Crafty Store. While you're there, check out the Baby Room chippies too.. TOO CUTE.. and another great set for using on their own.
Have a great day
